Meet the Owner
Nasir, known as OG Starplay, is the founder, artistic director, and operating fashion designer of Starplay Co.
The name Starplay was inspired by the term “star player”—used to describe athletes who separate themselves through sacrifice, dedication, and commitment to their craft. Their willingness to put in the work allows them to perform at a higher level and become recognized for what they do.
But to Nasir, being a Starplayer goes far beyond sports.
A Starplayer is an everyday person who is willing to make sacrifices, remain dedicated to their vision, and elevate their life—whether through creativity, entrepreneurship, personal growth, or simply the pursuit of something greater.
Nasir grew up from humble beginnings in the inner city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Raised by hardworking parents who sacrificed to give their children opportunities they didn’t have themselves, Nasir witnessed firsthand what dedication and perseverance looked like.
As the youngest child, those sacrifices stayed with him. Through willpower, faith, and determination, he made a commitment to himself that their sacrifices would never go to waste.
Throughout his life, Nasir encountered hardships and circumstances that he believes happened for a reason. Rather than allowing those experiences to define him, he chose to understand what each one was trying to teach him.
Those lessons became part of the foundation of Starplay Co.
Each Starplay Co. collection represents a different message, lesson, or chapter Nasir has encountered along his journey. The clothing is more than fashion—it is a reflection of growth, sacrifice, ambition, and the pursuit of elevation.
Starplay Co. is for the Starplayers—the people who continue to bet on themselves, sacrifice for their vision, and work toward becoming something greater.
